Carnivorous dinosaurs are a class of theropods that feed on other animals. They were one of the two main types, or groups, of predatory dinosaurs in the Mesozoic Era. Carnivores had many different characteristics that helped them to be carnivorous, including the shape of their teeth and size.The most famous carnivorous dinosaur is Tyrannosaurus rex which means "tyrant lizard king."

The carnivorous dinosaur known as Spinosaurus was one of the largest of all dinosaurs, almost as large or even larger than other carnivores such as Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus.

What are the most famous carnivorous dinosaurs?
Tyrannosaurus rex is the best known carnivorous dinosaur. It was one of the largest terrestrial carnivores and weighed about one-fifth as much as any other living land animal of comparable size. Other members include Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Spinosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus in North America; Tyrannosaurus bataar in Asia; Tarbosaurus edwardsi in Mongolia; Rugops primus from Africa.
