Jingshanosaurus was a genus of sauropodomorph dinosaurs that lived in the early Jurassic. The fossils were unearthed near the city of Jingshan ("golden hill"), in Lufeng County, Yunnan Province, China, from which the name derives. The name means "Jingshan lizard" in reference to the place where it was found.
It was of moderate build, a ground-dwelling dinosaur that was initially bipedal, but due to large increases in the size of the species, they evolved into gravitating quadrupeds. It was a herbivorous dinosaur that fed on the tall foliage and fauna of the tall trees of its time. It traveled in herds to protect itself from predators. Other than reproducing by laying eggs, there was little information about them.
Jingshanosaurus was an estimated 7.5 meters long.
