Struthiosaurus was one of the smallest known and most basal genera of nodosaurid dinosaurs that lived in Late Cretaceous Europe. The name means "double-headed" in reference to its exceptional trait of having double-headed ribs.
It was a four-legged dinosaur known to be the smallest of all nodosaurian dinosaurs. Armor protected its body to defend itself from attack by predators. An herbivorous dinosaur that would have been much less likely to exhaust limited food sources gave rise to insular dwarfism.
There was not much information about this dinosaur; however, it reproduced by laying eggs. It was about 2.5 meters long and weighed 300-400 kg.
