Rinchenia was a genus of oviraptorid dinosaur that lived in the Upper Cretaceous Nemegt Formation of Mongolia. In 1896 it was described by Rinchen Barsbold.
It was a feathered maniraptorid dinosaur with short, beak-shaped skulls and bony ridges on the top of the head. It has a small neck vertebra and long parietal bones. Its size was generally medium, comparable to that of a turkey. It had a large opening in the lower jaw bone and shortened snouts, beak-like jaws with few or no teeth. The hands and arms were generally long, and the shoulder girdle was large and massive. Its tail was very short and ended in four fused vertebrae.
It is possible that they were carnivores, herbivores, mollusk eaters or egg eaters, as the feeding habits of these animals are not fully known.
It is estimated that Rinchenia was approximately 1.5 m long and weighed 71 kg.
It is possible that they were carnivores, herbivores, that they fed on mollusks or eggs, since the feeding habits of these animals are not completely known.
