Erketu was a genus of somopospondylid sauropod dinosaur that lived in Asia during the Late Cretaceous, approximately 102 to 86 million years ago. It was discovered between 2002 and 2003 during a field expedition and was first described in 2006. It was named after a Mongolian deity.
It was a relatively large sauropod with an extremely long neck. It is estimated that the neck was twice as long as its body, which may record the relationship between the neck and the body. It was a four-legged dinosaur. It was a herbivore whose main food was probably conifers, the dominant plant when large sauropods lived.
It is estimated that Erketu was about 15 m long and weighed about 5 tons.
