Datousaurus was a dinosaur that lived in the Middle Jurassic. The name means "big-headed lizard" which comes from the Chinese da to "Big-headed" and from the Greek sauros/σαυρος "lizard". In 1984, it was named Dong Zhiming and Tang.

It was a huge, bulky dinosaur that lived on land. It had a small head, long neck, long tail and four thick legs like pillars. It was a small moving quadruped dinosaur. Its forelimbs were rather slender and supported its weight. It was a herbivorous dinosaur with larger, spoon-shaped teeth. Its teeth were well developed for grazing on trees of different sizes.

Datousaurus was about 15 meters long.
