Nomingia was a genus of oviraptorid theropod dinosaur that lived in the Cretaceous period and inhabited Asia. It was named Nomingiin Gobi in reference to the place where the remains of the animal were found.
It appeared to be quite bird-like, like its close relatives Caudipteryx, Oviraptor and Protarchaeopteryx. It was probably covered with feathers, and its tail had a fan-like mass of tail feathers. It was a medium-sized dinosaur that Gregory S. Paul estimated at 1.7 meters in length and 20 kilograms in weight. It had sporting beak-like jaws and probably a crest used for display. It was an omnivorous animal that ate both plants and meat.
Apart from that, Nomingia reproduced by laying eggs.
