Guaibasaurus an extinct genus of basal dinosaur that lived in the Late Triassic Caturrita Formation of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. It was probably a basal theropod sauropodomorph.

It is considered a very primitive sauropodomorph dinosaur. It has a small skull, a large thumb with a claw, an elongated femur and elongated teeth with serrated crowns. It evolved to adapt to the tall foliage and fauna available in the tall trees of its time, much like giraffes today. Its teeth were generally weak and were leaf-shaped or spoon-shaped. Its stomach had gastroliths, similar to the gizzard stones of modern birds or crocodiles, which helped to debark and digest the tough plant fibers swallowed by the animals.

It is estimated that Guaibasaurus was 2 meters long and weighed 10 kg.
