Tsintaosaurus was a genus of hadrosaurid dinosaurs that originated in the Late Cretaceous of Asia about 80 million years ago. In 1958, it was first described by Chinese paleontologist C. C. Young. The name means "with a nasal spine" in reference to the distinctive crest on the snout.

It had a unicorn-shaped front crest on the top of its skull, which probably helped it attract mates. It walked on all fours, although bipedal postures and locomotion were also easily possible. It had nasal passages that looped through those expanded premaxillary bones, allowing it to produce distinctive mating calls. It had a large tail and paddle-like forelegs to aid in swimming. They were among the most vocally adept of all non-avian forms.

Tsintaosaurus lived in lakes, probably in herds, which need to be kept in four or more groups to be comfortable. It was a herbivorous dinosaur that ate a large amount of plants suitable for food. This dinosaur reproduced by laying eggs.

Tsintaosaurus reached 3.6 m in height, 10 m in length and weighed 3,000 kg.
