The Pachyrrhinosaurus was a ceratopsian dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous, 76-74 million years ago. It roamed northwestern North America. It was a large herbivore closely related to Styracosaurus and Centrosaurus. It was found almost everywhere except in the island mountains.

The pachydinosaur had a narrow and prominent skull, like other ceratopsids. It possessed an incredibly unique survival ability; it had a huge beak designed to break branches and detach ferns and other plant materials and bony ornaments. Above its nose, it had huge flattened protuberances while two smaller ones were located above its eyes. When the Pachyrubinosaurus was fully grown, a thick sheath and some padding would have covered the nasal boss.

Pachyrhinosaurus comes from the Greek word meaning "reptile with a thick nose". It was both large and quadrupedal. Pachyrhinosaurus is a non-aggressive herbivorous species, with its teeth in its jaws to open and consume plants. It had four muscular legs that supported its built musculature but could not see very well. Its fascinating appearance was designed to defend itself rather than flee.

This colossal creature grew to 20 feet in length and weighed about 6,000 pounds. It could run about 15 miles per hour at top speed.
