Lophorhothon was a genus of hadrosauroid dinosaurs that lived in the Late Cretaceous. In the 1940s, the remains of this little-known small sauropod dinosaur were first discovered in extensive erosional outcrops of the unnamed lower member of the Mooreville Chalk Formation in Dallas County, west of the city of Selma, Alabama.

This was a duck-billed dinosaur that was 24 to 35 feet long. They were largely bipedal, but able to stand, walk and feed on all fours because their forelimbs were sturdy enough. It had a flat skull, a wide duck-like mouth, and toothless upper and lower front jaws. It was a herbivore with rows of crushing rear teeth that the animals used to process vegetation. An early member of the hadrosaurine subfamily usually developed a "Roman nose" shape formed by a tall, narrow nasal ridge.
