Gryposaurus was a genus of duck-billed dinosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous of the North American Campanian, some 83 to 75.5 million years ago. Fossils were found in places such as Alberta (Canada), Coahuila (Mexico) and Arizona. Its name means "hook-billed lizard". Lambe discovered it in 1914, known from 10 complete skulls, partial skulls, skin impressions and skeletal remains.

Gryposaurus was similar to Kritosaurus, and for many years was considered the same genus. It was known by numerous features such as skulls, some skeletons, and even some skin impressions showing that it had pyramidal scales pointing along the midline of the back. It can be further distinguished by its narrow arched nasal hump or described as similar to a "Roman nose". It may have been used for species identification or for sexual identification and combat with individuals of the same species. However, they lacked solid cranial ridges but had some fleshy ridges known from rare mummified fossils.

Gryposaurus was of a size and shape typical of hadrosaurs, large and could walk on two or four legs. It was a herbivorous dinosaur with a long, shallow crest over the nasal opening. Its front jaw had a toothless beak made of keratin and contained complex batteries of teeth designed to process plants before they were swallowed. The feet were fleshy pads around the toes.

It lived in herds like other hadrosaurs and provided parental care. The griposaur reached 40 feet in length and weighed five tons.
