Europasaurus was a basal macronid sauropod that lived during the Late Jurassic about 154 million years ago. It was a basal sauropod of the titanosaur clade, but much smaller than usual. It was a quadrupedal herbivorous dinosaur found in northern Germany. Europasaurus was an example of insular dwarfism, meaning that it came from an isolated population of sauropods on an island in the Lower Saxon Basin. Perhaps because northern Europe in the Late Jurassic consisted of several small islands it would not have been able to support large breeding populations of sauropods. It was discovered in a bone bed as a herd.

It had rows of spines running from the back of the head to the tip of the tail. The female Europasaurus was observed to protect or inherit the offspring in the first months of the offspring's life. These creatures have no known predators, but it is assumed that they were probably hunted by large carnivores such as Baryonyx and Torvosaurus.

The Europosaurus was indeed small, estimated a total length of only 6 meters or almost 20 feet, and its shoulder height was at the height of an adult human.
