Edmontosaurus was a duck-billed dinosaur from the late Cretaceous period. Duck-billed dinosaurs had short arms, a long pointed tail, three toes, hoofed feet and glove-like hands. It was a giant herbivorous dinosaur with a flat, sloping head, toothless beak, cheek pouches and hundreds of tightly packed cheek teeth that ground down to their food.

Edmontosaurus was one of the largest hadrosaurs and was one of the last dinosaurs to exist. It had a broad snout, probably had a horny cover that closed against the horny cover of the lower jaw. It had many teeth behind its beak to help chew food. It had a long jaw that we can move slightly from side to side. This made them successful plant eaters.

It had large eyes, with large, hollow nostrils. Edmontosaurus was a social animal and lived in a large group with adults and young. These large, hollow nostrils were used to make loud bellowing sounds.

It reached about 42 feet long and weighed up to 3.5 tons. Edmontosaurus was a slow moving dinosaur that walked on two legs. Edmontosaurus was defenseless against most carnivores but had acute senses such as sight, hearing and smell.

Edmontosaurus had leathery skin and had a series of protuberances along its neck, back and tail.
