Carnotaurus was a medium-sized theropod dinosaur that lived 72 to 69.9 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous in South America, at the same time as the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex.

When we talk about dinosaurs, the deadly T-rex is the first thing that comes to mind. However, it was not the only dangerous dinosaur because the Carnotaurus is also on the list. The name Carnotaurus means "carnivorous bull" because of its bull-like horns and it was carnivorous. The Carnotaurus featured what was not seen in other carnivores. Yes! It had thick horns located just above its eyes and a very deep skull sitting on a muscular neck. It was bipedal or walked on two legs; it had a long tail that provided balance and stability. It may be similar to the T-Rex but its arms were even shorter than the famous short-armed T-Rex.

The Carnotaurus had tiny arms, so if it competed with T-Rex in weightlifting using its forearms, T-Rex would come out the winner as heavyweight champion.

Carnotaurus was reasonably large but quite light, weighed 1.35 metric tons and was 8 to 9 m long. It had long, slender teeth; each side of the upper jaw consisted of 16 teeth and in the lower jaw 15 teeth.

The Carnotaurus had reached speeds of up to 48 mph (56 km/h) and was possibly the fastest large theropod. But the only problem was that the Carnotaurus could not maintain its speed for very long.
