Beipiaosaurus was a genus of therizinosauroid theropod dinosaurs that lived during the middle Cretaceous period 125 million years ago in what is now China. It was known to be one of the largest feathered dinosaurs discovered. The name means "Beipiao lizard" and refers to the city in China (Beipiao) near the site of its discovery.

Similar to a sauropod, it had a long neck and a small head to reach trees more easily. It had very long arms, and on each finger, it had wicked claws to tear trees and leaves or probably to defend itself from predators. Its body was robust compared to that of the therizinosaurs, ending in a kind of belly and much thinner. The feet had a generic three-toed pes instead of four, as seen in other limbs. The teeth were leaf-shaped, like those of herbivorous dinosaurs designed to strip vegetation.

Beipiaosaurus was estimated to be about 2.2 m long and weighed about 45-91 kg compared to the advanced and giant Segnosaurus or Therizinosaurus.
