Bagaceratops was a bulky dinosaur that had a bony ridge along the back of the skull. It was a ceratopsian dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous, between 84 and 71 million years ago. The remains were found in the Gobi Desert (Mongolia) in the early 1970s by the Joint Polish-Mongolian Paleontological Expeditions. The name means "small horned face", with a great name: "baga" is the Mongolian word for "small", "ceratops" means "horned face".

It was one of the smallest and most primitive of the early ceratopsians. The tail has longer and noticeably thinner neural spines, similar to those of a modern theropod Spinosaurus. It was a plant-eating dinosaur that stood on four legs. The snout was short and low and was topped by a "boss" or nasal protuberance, rather than a horn. It had a triangular and very short beak and no openings. It had ten crushing teeth on each jaw and no teeth on the beak. It had a large slit on each side of its snout which was an unusual feature of Bagaceratops.

Bagaceratops was approximately 1 meter long, 50 centimeters high and weighed about 22 kilograms.
